Hyperstudio Movie

This term we worked together as a class to make one music video. We had to take a line from our song and think carefully about what it meant then animate the meaning. All the lines were then put together into this movie. We hope you enjoy it!!

Merry Christmas Room 30

This year we have been so privileged to have had to opportunity to write to a class in Rotorua. We have really enjoyed reading their letters and writing to them about our lives. I have been wonderful seeing how different people spend their time and learning about what Room 30 are learning.

Here is a little video we made for Room 30 to thank them and wish them a Merry Christmas.

We hope you like it Room 30!

Music Making

This Term has been filled with the making of music. In room 14 we have been busy working with each other and thinking carefully about what we wanted to say to our friends and how we could use our song lyrics to express actions, feelings and ideas to others in a meaningful way.

Here are some of the songs we created this term we hope you enjoy them.

Dear Kate - We are sorry your Pen Pal has moved.

Dear Kate,
Kharizma left this school so I am going to write  a letter to you. My name is Kiarah, this term we have been learning about music. We have been making instruments and making music. We found out what sounds the musical notes make. Our class have been  playing recorder’s and it has been so much fun. We played these notes with the recorder's, a, b, d, c and g.

Sorry that she left. I hope you enjoyed my letter.

From Kiarah.

Film Festival

Yesterday we went to the 10th Annual Manaiakalani Film Festival. It was a wonderful experience and the Room 14 really enjoyed the trip. We left school a little after 10.30 and got to see movies from Pt England School and Tamaki Primary. It was fantastic watching all the children on the big screen.

The Real Story of Peter Pan

This Movie was created as a result of our learning about planet earth and beyond. As part of this topic we focused on how the sun impacted on us. As a result we talked a lot about shadows and how they are made. We decided to take the story of Peter Pan and put a Pt England Twist on it.

I came up with and outline for the story and Kiarah and Angelica wrote the script. The rest of the class performed in the movie. Sadly Lorenzo was away during our filming and Israel choose to take a behind the scenes role however we know that they had a impact on the overall movie.

I am so proud of the Room 14 learners and the effort they put it. A big ups to Jermain our wonderful shadow although you may not see his face we feel his presence in the movie. We hope you enjoyed our movie we certainly enjoyed making it!

Thank you to our wonderful presenter Kiarah and Gabby. Here is their introduction,

K-Hi my name is Kiarah, and I am in Room 14 at Pt England school. Our movie is about…

G-Hi Kiarah

K-Wait, who are you?

K-Peter, Who is Peter??

G-Peter Pan

K- Oh…..I think he visited Pt England once, Let's take a look.

Thank you to some of the music.
